Togakushi Ski Field (aka Togakushi Snow World or Togakushi Ski Resort) is a medium size Nagano ski area that is not quite yet discovered by foreign skiers who tend to head to nearby resorts like Shiga Kogen or Hakuba. Therefore it can be quite deserted, especially on week days. It offers a quite respectable 548 metres of vertical descent, 7 lifts in total with 19 trails, along with many good days of prime Japanese powder snow. It’s a good all round resort catering to a mix of 30% beginner, 40% intermediate and 30% advanced.

The typical season at Togakushi Ski Field runs mid-December through late March, though dates vary with snowfall.
Lifts operate roughly 08:30–16:15/16:30 daily. There is no night skiing available.
Snow conditions can be excellent powder thanks to cold, dry winters in this region of Nagano.
Some steeper, less groomed sections on advanced runs can offer excellent powder when conditions are right.
Multiple restaurants and cafés on the mountain serve a range of food as well as local specialties such as Togakushi soba noodles.
Equipment rentals and ski school lessons are available, although English is limited.
A kids’ snow park and gentle slopes make it ideal for families and those new to skiing or snowboarding.
The Ninja Slope and playful thematic elements – linked to the region’s historic ninja culture – provide fun features for children.

There are nearly 25 ski resorts within 60-90 minutes of Togakushi Ski Field, such as Shiga Kogen and Ryuoo across the valley, or a short drive to the slopes of Kurohime Kogen.
